Interesting SafeSearch case via the latest hangout. Sex toy site in France adameteve doesn't rank for its own brand now. It does using "and" but doesn't using "et". For "and" it's filtered by SafeSearch. For "et", it's gone. Could be a Google issue glennga.be/3ecbQDE

Here is what trending looks like for the homepage for the brand keyword "adam et eve". Looks like trouble started in April 2021, jumped back and forth, and then flatlined in late August or September. Again, interesting case. Could very well be a Google issue there...

A little more data on this. In Sep the homepage of the site dropped 60 spots from 1 to 61. In Aug, you can see it was #1 for the brand term "adam et eve" & then dropped 60 spots soon after. Should be interesting to see if this changes now that G is aware (based on the hangout):

This case was covered again in the latest hangout video (w/the site's SEO). passed the site along to the SafeSearch team at Google & they said it's *not* a bug. G's systems are working as intended. John said to not expect that situation to change: youtube.com/watch?v=LHf8Dv

For the query "adam et eve" on google.fr, the site doesn't show up at all when SafeSearch is on or off. For "adam and eve" on google.fr, it does show up when SafeSearch is off, but not on. And on google.com (in FR), there are diff. results

So as has explained before, choose your brand wisely if Search is important for your business. You don't want to have to battle Google's SafeSearch algorithms (or other algo weirdness) when people search for your brand. Tough situation for them glennga.be/3EGrC4N

Isn't that rather due to mum, so that google here understands that people are looking for something else mainly?
That's hard. They need to change the name. There will always be problems, I think. Wasn't there a case of a car manufacturer who changed the name of a car because of google?
Its mainly technically wasted link juice by a slashed headshot from a language cannon. () :)
And its also a bad idea to try to rank adult stuff on a religious keyword combo that competes with wikipedia. I would have used adam-et-eve .dom instead of the compressed form.
