A pox on all their houses. Obviously Vince is the most vile, but he was surrounded by family, execs and lawyers that for decades covered up all his wrongdoings, and more recently have exploited their inside knowledge of those misdeeds for their own ends.

Not to get onto a soapbox but the palace intrigue of WWE today has completely overshadowed the allegations that led to his removal to begin with - McMahon issued emails, a press release and at no time denied the allegations, offered contrition for past behavior or any empathy

It sure will appeal to potential students to know that classes will become larger and larger to maximise the unit of resource and build “efficiencies”, that their lecturers will be burnt out, that we won’t be able to be as attentive to them as we’d like.

Confirmation today that tuition fees in England will be frozen for another two years will appeal to potential students but will also only intensify the financial pressure on some universities - since higher fees in 2012 they have barely budged. All while @ucu dispute continues

When discussing Vince McMahon's misconduct, improper payments to employees and relationships with employees, why couldn't mention that these were female? Surely, gender is a key part of this story, particularly given the reports that he may sell WWE to Saudi Arabia

Well, hurried denials are to be expected as the perception that Vince McMahon cut a deal with Saudi Arabia to regain control of the company without properly negotiating with other suitors will clearly open him up again to shareholder litigation.
Quote Tweet
I concur with @RichLightShed. I asked someone at WWE, who would know, who said the story that took hold of Twitter last night, about WWE and Saudi Arabia being near a deal to take the company private, is untrue.

Vince McMahon selling to the people he once got into a hostage standoff with, all because they're the only people who'd be willing to guarantee him the reigns of power going forward, would be the real cherry on top of this shit sundae.

The authoritarian nature of their rulers suggests no-one will be easily able to walk.
Quote Tweet
I hope the women of WWE have a chance to walk if they want. Hell, I hope everyone does at this point. Some will stay for the big paychecks but this is terrible. I’m sure plenty of releases will be coming anyways.

"Get over the NHS waiting lists backlog by mass outsourcing of operations" is a plan that was actually done just 2 years ago with the Covid NHS -private hospital "concordat". How anyone can talk about this without looking at how that went (v badly) shows facts don't matter

In the long run, you’d still have to bet on Triple H/Stephanie ending up in charge, as they’re the only people with the track record and experience to run the wrestling side of the company.
Quote Tweet
If WWE is actually sold it's kind of a scary time. As out of touch as Vince is now, a lot of WWE's historical success has been that the buck always stopped with someone who knew wrestling. When you put a layer of corporate ownership above that, you have a WCW stew, baby.

You’ve got to think someone like Kevin Dunn has been in his ear selling Vince on the idea that he could have rode out the scandal if he had simply stuck to his guns, reminding him of the crowd reactions before he left.

I think this is a sign that he’s really itching to be back on TV in front of WWE fans, who gave him reverential treatment even when the shit hit the fan.

Can we talk for a minute about how insane it is that Vince McMahon's letter to the WWE board of directors has "WWE Universe" in the first sentence?

Even as a Brit who thinks that Will is tremendously talented, this feels absurd and gross.

Will Ospreay now has 25 matches ranked 5 stars or more by Dave Meltzer, equalling the record held by Mitsuharu Misawa.

Of course, the family has been divided at times over the past two years. Explain Stephanie McMahon being buried to the press by WWE sources or the mass firing of Paul Levesque’s friends without family infighting?

Did the WON ever formally report that Vince and Linda McMahon had separated? I’m sure Dave knows much more about the internal family dynamics than he’s letting on, even if he doesn’t know whether they’re still divided today.
Quote Tweet
I’m guessing it’s just because he doesn’t know, but after reading the WON, my biggest question is still unanswered. Is the McMahon family divided on what Vince is doing or are they all on the same page?

Was it members of WWE’s current “excellent management team” that gave Vince McMahon “bad advice” to step down?

And WWE’s “exceptional management team” do not lie?
Quote Tweet
"WWE has an exceptional management team in place, and I do not intend for my return to have any impact on their roles, duties, or responsibilities." -Vince McMahon I've asked WWE if this affects creative or the showrunner aspect of WWE in any way, because, as we know, Vince lies

This angle hasn’t been probed enough by the wrestling media.

Replying to @KrisZellner
I think there’s a lot going on here. Obviously the focus should be on the alleged victims obtaining justice, but they seem to be pawns in a bigger power game inside the McMahon family.

Is there really any benefit to getting a one-minute jump on breaking wrestling news, other than signalling to your subscribers that you are in the know?

We look forward to their guidance regarding all aspects of wrestling in the U.K. - our job as politicians is to serve the needs of the company at the forefront of the global wrestling industry and we willingly accept any breadcrumbs they offer us.

We welcome the news that @WWE #MITB is coming to the UK following the success of Clash at the Castle last year. We welcome the investment in our economy and the promotion of wrestling to UK audiences. We hope WWE continues its community outreach efforts on this visit.

Sunak says in his speech that his plan for the NHS is more use of the private sector, more privatisation. Wes Streeting opened the door to this by already saying the same, signaling to the Tories that there will be no political cost to selling off more of our NHS. Thanks Wes.

Time will tell on Mercedes Mone, but her debut generated far more interest for New Japan than Omega’s return for an expected match of the year contender with Will Ospreay.

Mercedes MONE is fascinating to me because there are so few people as big a star as her, as young as her, who willingly leave WWE. There is a huge ceiling for people like that but when it doesn't hit, boy can it get ugly.

Halving inflation when it’s 11% would still mean it would be at a high level relative to the past 30 years.
Quote Tweet
Rishi Sunak sets out 5 priorities: halve inflation, grow economy, reduce debt, cut waiting lists, stop small boats. “They are your government's priorities, and we will either have achieved them or not. No tricks, no ambiguity. We're either delivering for you or we're not.”

I’m not sure a good lad is one who abandons social media during Speaking Out because he’s best pals with, and worked for, bigger dickheads than Rishi Sunak.

It’s interesting that HEIs perfectly understand the need for higher salaries for their boss’s due to the international competition for top talent, but not for their staff.
