Wouldn't it be better to have millions of people watching the movie and understanding trans issues than to cast an unknown trans actor without the box office pull just for the sake of equality and risk limiting the message of the movie to people that already are aware of trans?
-
Would people really "understand" trans issues, though, by seeing a woman dressing up as a man playing a trans man? Also, have you seen pictures of the Real Historical Person she was supposed to play? There is literally no resemblance whatsoever

You realize this hurts representation right? This film will likely never be made now. Also studios will now be reluctant to green light films with trans protagonists because they can’t cast a well known star. Good work idiots!

Scar Jo is the highest paid actress. She's actually the highest paid in Hollywood over anyone right now, period. So no one can bully her, especially not some irrelevant internet bums. Guess what? No one will fund for this movie now, without Scarlett. This is over

Uhm, yes, okay, but would you support, say, Bill Murray playing Martin Luther King? I don't think so?

The hypocrisy is hilarious. They want to be seen as just people, LGBT constantly complain about always being pigeonholed and saying who they are shouldn’t define them...unless it comes to playing movie roles in which case only they should play themselves. Just hilarious.
-
If people want proper representation they should be able to have ppl from their community, ethnicity, culture etc. to play them in roles. It’s a honorable request.
