I'm done. The free software community looks the other way while they build their empires on licenses that sustain Stallman's power.

if there's one thing ive learned the last couple months of lawtwitter it's that it's really hard to slander a public figure
-
Yuuuuup. If you’re going to throw around legal words, make sure you know what you’re talking about.

Also, at least in the US, the truth is an absolute defense against defamation.

As a board member, it is appropriate for you to investigate issues raised about FSF leaders, yes. Calling them "slanderous accusations" and demanding info that "holds up under oath" is not part of a fair and objective investigation, & casts doubt on your ability to conduct one.

RMS's email to the MIT list. Did you read it?
-
@smk No I have not seen that email. Do you have a link? -

So, unless his behavior is such that it leads to prosecution, no big deal? Wow.

Richard Stallman's lechery and inability to keep his hands to himself have been common knowledge for decades. I remember LUGs warning each other about it back in the 1990s. If you weren't aware of it, it's because you didn't want to.

This isn't how a board member of an important foundation is supposed to respond to criticism.

I don't think slanderous means what you think it does.

Looks like Sarah was exactly on the money when she said we shouldn’t hold our breaths. Investigate. Get to the bottom of it. Do your job.

Geoff, I am fairly certain investigating is your job, not Sarah's. You have the accusation. Now do your job and investigate.

Unless you need to take legal action to remove RMS from the Board there is no requirement for the evidence to be admissible in court. In any case (pun unintended) the proof is right there in RMS’s own words.
-
Article VI, Section 7:
@gknauth and others can vote to remove him "with or without cause". Yet they continue to allow him to seriously harm the organization and the movement. https://static.fsf.org/nosvn/fsf-amended-bylaws-current.pdf …

Dude I read the email he sent and what she said is not slanderous, what HE said makes him a predator and a treat to women everywhere since he clearly does not understand consent and your reply here is bugshit. Do something about that man.
-
Threat, obviously, not treat.
