I think yes, for those who can afford it. The bigger play I envision happening is that companies that focus on #privacy will have a competitive advantage in the market - it will pay to be privacy-focused!

Great question. Recognizing the limitations of Tw surveys, are these answers a bit discreet? If VPN is already a form of paid privacy then a proportion already does it. Even if VPN doesn't qualify something like >1% and <10% would pay today. How much and for what exactly?

I don't think people should pay for access to a human right, there is no price for privacy. People might just migrate over time to other platforms: from Google to DuckDuckGo, from Messenger to Signal... But there are still way more data leaks to come to affect real change
