    Licensing means negotiation, not just money. Google seems to offer a benevolent service of visibility-boost to those publishers affording it. Flipping the script. All press publishers will need a slice of cake. Question remains how big&in return of which(algorithmic)outreach. 4/5

    The emphasis on quality/high profile/award-winning journalism rings the first bell. The lack of sensitive distinction between big-small-private-public-independent press publishers is alarming. Media pluralism may be hard to design, but keeping diversity of sources is a must. 3/5

    No doubt: the way old big Google tangoes with EU and nat legislators is fascinating. The move towards licensing is a good sign. Intrigued by evocative words, one may even forget that 🇫🇷 Competition Authority enjoined Google to negotiate with any press publisher requesting so. 2/5
