Is there a reason why you're not tweeting this, but putting it in a reply? Is there a reason why the statement you put out doesn't explicitly condemn the ongoing practice of bridge translation, which sparked these conversations in the first place?

to condemn the practice of bridge translation&the cultural appropriation it entails. I would also like to see acknowledgement of the colonial erasure of non-white translators in the field of translation studies/publishing, with a view to dismantling it

That's a condemnation we can make. I think we're going to need a bit to regroup and think about how to articulate our position a little better.
