It's heart wrenching to see Notre Dame Cathedral burn, but to see people publically singing fills me with hope.

Having gone to University in Paris, having known Notre Dame well, seeing it every day, & my mother having lived there in the '50s, I cried at the sight of the flames.

It is just a building. No ppl lost their lives! This building gets more media coverage than ppl dying ever day from guns? I know history, and they will spend millions to fix that building! No money to fix ppl lives! Sad,

I went to Mass in Notre Dame in 1971 age 20. Cathedral is not just a building it was most beautiful cathedral with incredible art on ceiling & stained glass in all of Europe & I went to many other European churches. They can never replace the art or history. I am Jewish & crying.

I am weeping. I sang in in Notre Dame Cathedral in 1978: "Vere langoures nostros, ipse tulit. Et dolores nostros, ipse portavit. Cujus li vores, sanati sumus." it seems appropriate today. "Truly, he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows..."

"...by His wounds we are healed." I am not a believer, just an agnostic. But I was reared in Catholic schools. And had the opportunity to sing some of the great Music of the Catholic Mass in that Great Cathedral.
