I was skeptical, but it actually is the best thing I saw (on Twitter) today.

Holly, your a god. I’m the constant monologue type and quite frankly, sometimes it’s exhausting. But sometimes it’s fun as I exclaim to myself ‘Hey great idea! That would be a cool study.” And I answer back “yes, it would!” Then I feel like a god.

1/2 I just ran into Mike Pence at the Drake Diner in Des Moines. I confronted him about his damaging health care cuts because for me it's not about politics, it's about saving lives.

In 2012, Belgium’s bike trip mode share was 22%. They wanted to get it to 35% by 2030. Thru creative, decisive action, they reached 35% by 2019, in 7 years, 11 YEARS EARLY! tells the story that I learned working there last year.

Hot off the press from "The mean incubation period was 5.2 days (95% confidence interval [CI], 4.1 to 7.0), with the 95th percentile of the distribution at 12.5 days." No real surprises here, but great to have data (N=425)

A man was sitting alone, on a bench in a park, singing Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer by himself. By the end, the entire park joined along to sing with him. (🎥)

DCCT shows glucose is critical for "Intensive glycemic management is recommended to lower the risk of initial CVD events in T1D. After a first event, optimal glycemic control may reduce the risk of recurrent CVD events and should be maintained"

My wife and I never talk baby talk to our kid. We enforce academic seminar norms and jargon. My child isn’t even 2 yet and can interrupt presenters on the first slide. Adults at family gatherings are shocked when my child asks a question that turns out to be more of a comment.

I shed a few tears today, but I am forever grateful to have worked for the irreplaceable . The work she has done for the diabetes community and the women in STEM she has mentored are all part of an incredible legacy (with much more still to come)!

Highly relevant to most regions of Canada, certainly Ontario. Currently, without the nCoV epidemic, we have acutely ill people in hallways and conference rooms as hospitals and specialized care units have zero extra capacity. Poor planning, throttled budgets, leaves us vulnerable

My great great great great uncle, Samuel Bass (as played by Brad Pitt in 12 Years a Slave) helped free Solomon Northrup. It’s hard for anyone else in my family to top that.

37 years with today & this list pretty much still stands. I’m grateful to the DIY community for making more self-management options available. Everyone with diabetes should have helpful, accessible options, and for goodness’ sake, we need . 💙 to all fellow PWD.
