An article has been circulating my feeds claiming that China hasn't got a decent band. Clearly the writer hasn't listened to very many Chinese bands because New Pants 新裤子 can rival the biggest and also the edgiest bands in Europe or US.

My mate just told me that he was at uni and sat at a table next to a Chinese woman to eat his lunch, and she turned around and said “did you know, this table was full until I sat here, then everyone got up and left”. This corona virus racism is not just coming from old boomers.

In 2017 we released our covers album entitled 'Europa'. We remain incredibly proud of it, what it represents and the great support (and occasional death threat) we received from people out there.

A few things that feel resonant today, but actually matter all the time: 1) Stand up to racism 2) Read translations 3) Fight climate change 4) Support workers' rights That's it! Have happy weekends, everyone. There's plenty of good people, and good books about, always.

Great to see - a pamphlet I haven't come across before! Art work by Huang Xinbo and Jack Chen. For a discussion of these and other works Chen exhibited round the world in 1937-38 see my book A Modern Miscellany. I'd love to see the whole pamphlet but not easy when stuck in UK!
