officially has more attendees in 2019 than 2018. Thanks to all who bought tickets and all of our sponsors who made this possible. There are still one or two left. Also, thanks to who is supporting our photo booth mentor project! The banner:

Such amazing support from like having a full devops team helping you out. Sorted a problem found in production very quickly.

I guess it very much depends on the scale. If you don't need anything else than a couple of app servers, a db and a load balancer, using k8s probably does not fit the bill and something like is much more easy to setup while being reasonably priced.

I found heroku so limiting at least for my usecases that I never consider using it for Elixir. A heroku like alternative for Elixir that I use is . Also to collect those metrics heroku uses a router in front that adds a lot of extra time to client final time.

A few months after moving my elixir apps from heroku to DO I think I'm going to start moving them over to gigalixir. Too many little things are just slightly annoying running them this way(hello logging) and my previous test run with and was really positive.

A number of folks have pointed out that the Phoenix LiveView bit I posted was localhost, so while neat, had essentially zero latency. idk how to add a ton more, but here's a live deployed version: That's whatever the default free gigalixir tier is

Want to shoutout a thank you to for all the help answering questions I've had about . It's a nice service and some of the best responsiveness I've ever seen with e-mailing the people behind a service for advice or help.

nth’ing gigalixir! they’re building lean so there’s some stuff that’s not perfect, but the support (it’s just the one dude as far as I can tell) is amazing.

Gigalixir - solid low tier free/ low price stuff, all CLI, can pick cloud provider, full erlang capabilities like Observer, really low “coupling” if you grow or hate the 1st provider, great team. It’s my favorite, although we use AWS “raw” also it’s annoying to manage early stage

Gigalixir is pretty good! Uses GCE underneath. Has good heroku-like and git based experience

Killing it today. I feel like for 3 or 4 days I was on two bugs: loading a custom font with freaking webpack and getting private git dependencies to work with (who has amazing support and a great platform). Feels good to be rolling again.

Another experiment I am not sold on yet... using git dependencies rather than umbrellas. I have a feeling that long term this decoupling will help but there was a bit of pain getting it established. Couldn't have done it without Jesse at . I *think* it will pay off.
