It's a feminist postmodern appropriation of the 50s pinup aesthetic, to them the 50s are a boogeyman of the most severe "MUH oppression and muhsogyny", so by expanding and territorializing the pinup for their purposes, by uglifying it, they have rendered the sexist symbol muted.
