I went to Burning Man a few times, back in the late 90s when it was cool" of course I was awestruck my this, he said "now Burning is just a corporatized affair for yuppies and hipsters with money, like counter culture Disneyland with drugs", that always struck me on a deep level.

Nothing can remain truly counter culture, especially if it's freakdelic/cyberdelic/Neo-hippie Silicon Valley revivalism, it only makes sense that burning man installations and art pieces are now being legitimized in "real" galleries, the bugmen loves their hedonist playgrounds.

But of course these playgrounds have to come with the idea of being on the edge and free of inhibitions, anarcho-prim/com whatever, yet still safe for the upper class consumer. PLUS these escapist jaunts must be "legitimized" by the artworld as well. RIP Burning Man.
