We can’t do
#directaction? I don’t believe that. We’re not willing to go to jail for a sit-in occupation, or for a#Luddite smashing. -
Those children abandoned by their parents, though, the Church – that is, we ourselves – has the duty to baptize and bring up.
-
Ideally, those who sponsor these abandoned orphans as
#godparents in#baptism also become their parents in every way.#ProLife -
These are things the Church did in old times even when a persecuted minority in the Roman empire. We should do at least that.
#ProLife -
The q is whether the Church should, in addition to adopting abandoned children, use
#directaction to compel#ProLife decisions. -
I’m on record saying it’s right to destroy equipment used for
#abortion, to stop people from killing children.#ProLife#directaction -
I agree with this. And I also take seriously
@GonzoMontreux's point that the "pro-life" movement essentially tells Americans that we can have a liberal society but without abortions, which isn't true. -
In fact, I would go a step further. I would categorize the pro life movement as a liberal movement. Expanding civil rights to a marginalized sector is exact liberal framing. This approach and rhetoric is indicative of nothing other than planned impotence.
