I suppose I could take a crack at writing “Moé Delenda Est” if people are interested, though I’d have to focus on otaku culture and a few relevant anime; I don’t think I can discuss the aesthetics with any sophistication.

The problem is that I don’t know how many people there are to convince of anything. The otaku and the anti-anime brigade both seem immovable, the rest are either apathetic or already have a nuanced opinion on it.

I think there's more room for discussion on this than you think- shinnichi have always been part of Western dissidence & we're hardly a homogenous group vertically or horizontally in time. I touched upon rightist admiration of Japan in my last piece: that deserves attention too.

Here I am getting SUBTWEETED in my menchies, SMDH as for exploration of the subject, I really don't have the knowledge to explore the history of anime in depth, I just find the obsessive and pornographic promotion of it in the west by weebs revolting, another form of escapism.

SMDH right back at ya - it ain’t a subtweet if you’re tagged and mentioned by name.

Now, much of otaku culture is indeed toxic, and it’s a topic worth addressing. That’s partly why it’s frustrating that you never do address it.

Ok ok I'm being harsh for it's own sake my friend, it's just there is this odd obsessive compulsion to weebs, and I guess I'm falling into the trap of finding the most degenerate examples to prove my point, very CF-esque...there you happy now Padre
