If the liberal is devoted to a sort of ataraxia that holds the discourse between passionate opposition to be a higher good than either side in themselves, then in a debate with an anti-liberal, he must not voice his case, lest he perform a contradiction.

I cannot understand how a liberal can be devoted TO liberalism. It seems to me that Moldbuggian passivism is the proper end-state of the liberal mind- a resignation from debate, to become merely an observer.

"Woke Centrists" who have a "vested interest" in their centrism are not as they appear- if they were truly "neutral" they would not position themselves against the radical extremes as they do- they would merely wait & see.

The "Classical Liberal" rejoinder is acceptable if it is merely a way of terminating a political discussion that one is apathetic toward. It's a punctuation mark, a form of political quietism, but as an ethos, it is a feigned neutrality disguising an uncomfortable affiliation.

This is what is bothersome about the Liberalism of Sargon, JBP, etc.; it's the farce of a man who believes he can play soccer by playing against both teams at the same time, but he is clearly wearing one of their uniforms...

The Moldbuggian passivist sits on the bench saying he would play if there were any teams worth playing for, going on about games of yore.

I think this explains why JBP is mostly called an attention whore or traitor by the Left (his team mates) because he's just making a spectacle of himself. He always makes clear to say that he's not on THAT other team though.

In my Irony of History, I noted the distinction between the Game Perspective & the Piece Perspective. JBP is subsumed in the latter & thus cannot see how he's functioning as a constituent element of the Left's "Team" from the Game perspective.

Another image of JBP is that of the spurned team captain, he wishes his team would play by his playbook, dislikes that the new captain came in on popularity & fashion & not "deep convictions" etc. Ultimately the man wants reform of the political left, a Bernie-crat.

In this extended metaphor I like to think of myself as an aimless player on the Right's team, inspecting a dandelion growing in the field, not really up to much beyond that.

the rhetoric of skeptics like Sargon and his materialist perspective, "classic" liberalism=lawful neutral default setting of history with no previous genealogy of ideology behind it, to them it's "the only sane option" for unimaginative chuds desperately avoiding conviction.
