The NPC question has reached critical mass. What's an NPC, how do I know if I am one, how dare you presume to call people NPCs? NPCs come from RPGs, they are "non-player characters", passive manikins with finite, scripted behaviors https://twitter.com/brightabyss/status/1040610105505402881 …

its funny because most people who use the term NPC are pretty much anti-capitalist in some form or another as well. to be an NPC is to be complicit in the various organs of the capitalist system to begin with.

I don't think it's anti-capitalist as much a desire to be winners. So you'd either profit off NPCs within capitalism and change the culture to fit your own aesthetics or reject NPC and capitalist culture. Regardless, you want to win a game rather than simply getting by.

There's also the question of are you playing PVP or PVE? Anti-capitalists seem to prefer PVP, while capitalists are more into PVE co-op speed-running.

If the game is a reality tunnel labyrinth of de Borgia's infinite proportions, and you have the ability to bore through the various passages at ease while most can't, then yes, the object should be to win this Game! But I feel like not enough of us even try tbh :/
