when you think of it, Nike is committing acts of cultural exploitation against at-risk youths by giving them this meaningless and price-inflated status symbol. there are kids who literally can't afford new cloths or even basic necessities but feel compelled to save up for nike.

The left used to crucify nike for their slave labor at the height of the anti-globalization movement in the 90s, as a kid i remember watching docs in the school library on it, now they lionize corporate capitalism, WEEEW.

Exactly. If I time traveled to find me in college circa 1998, it would be extremely hard to explain to myself my current political and philosophical stances in view of 2018 reality. I’m puzzled.
