The problem with a society run by lawyers, economists, and journalists is the elites can't imagine ordinary people making decisions that aren't based on lawsuits, money, or virtue signals.

a lot of them are dead inside (especially journalists), so they inherently scoff at any action derived from deeper human passions, and not actions taken for the sole purpose of achieving whatever social currency is popular today.
