Carlo's model fails to take into account a qualitative variable and a contextual variable. 1. These factions are each comprised of a few loosely affiliated quality people, followed by a number of mediocrities and a large compliment of utter swine.

The left converge because they're a product of their environment, not because they all decided on a common conception of 'the good'. They're pushed toward it.

Ahh very true. I think when you get to structure the contextual reality behind beliefs themselves, the quality of the people in the left does not matter, they all have the unison paint job of their "morality", whereas quality of individuals in the right matters a great deal.
