hmm, there is a whole number of arguments against the thesis of the book, and its still up in the air as to the "neoliberal turn" of Foucault. near the 80s he found all sorts of ways to stir the pot among his colleges, like having an affinity for Hayek and the Iranian revolution.

Don't know anything about the Iranian revolution, but can't dismiss affinity for Hayek as just trolling. Hayek's views on the complexity of systems (economies, brains, bird swarms, etc.) and his rejection of omniscience should appeal to postmodernists.

true, as Foucault wrote in society must be defended, homo-economous is essentially a subject-less postmodern entity, free of the constrains of a complete conception of a subjectivity, instead homo-economous purchases subjectness anew.
