What an unusual comparison, citing Jeremiah.
The word "homophobia" is too often tossed out by us gays. Everyone experiences rejection in life, being gay is too easy a blanket to hide under from ALL of life's woes that have nothing to do w/sexuality.

well He does have to take a promise of celibacy unless he’s breaking it. yikes

If he is breaking that vow, he is not a true priest. Truley, this world needs so much prayer.

The first of the article compares Jeremiah being silent about the "good news" (of the gospel) to being silent about a sinful struggle. Stretching it a bit, I think, as a comparison.

One extreme shouldn't send to another extreme. With his coping against shame from his school days doesn't mean "coming out" is going to automatically heal him. He's confused and lost and justifying.

Also saying "my truth" means you aren't filtering through Christ's. I would want a priest who sacrificed himself and died to sins, rather than one who rationalizes them away to make life easier. He isn't being a role model or walking out his priesthood if he doesn't.

I agree they need help to lead well as celibate priests, but not in full agreement w/ the way in which he says is the path to this. It isn't so much as "identifying" oneself as being someone of a certain type of sexuality but as someone who desires to live purity & model that.
