I’ve had a lot of people give me shit for being a brat about my birthday this year and honestly- I have. I’ve made a huge deal of it for the past month, tried to make plans with everyone and go do a bunch of stuff.

And this is for two reasons. 1) I am the oldest of three. Not only that, but my oldest brother (while only being 1.5 years younger than me) was always very dependent on our mother and very openly needy. I was independent and wanted to do everything by myself. No babying.

And 2) This is pretty much the last birthday I get to do this for and not be a total dickwad outside of the decades (30,40,50 etc). And I’ve never, in my 21 years, had a really special birthday. No one has ever gone out of their way to make my birthday important or to make me -
