I dont wanna be that guy but the first half of the episode was a let down
It was kinda boring but the end FOR SURE made up for it. A battle this long and intense is hard to be sustainably interesting. They even explained that. Battle gets boring after like 3 minutes.

I feel like they made it overly dark to cgi less things

That def contributed but personally I find battle super super boring after maybe thirty seconds. I think they did the best they could with what was gonna be a super boring bunch of scenes anyway.
