    I'm increasingly excited about our model of a homeless-run animal shelter we've created. The care our (formerly) homeless employees now give is highly professional and amazingly loving. We're now launching the adoption campaign. To help fund this project:

    A lengthy moral panic from the consultant class because of a few articles and some mild questioning doesn’t exactly convey confidence or security on the part of said class going into 2020

    in the *month-long* freakout over mild criticism of Beto, has anyone even attempted to refute the points against him? it's always some variation of "it's a disgusting attack to bring up his voting record, something something Bernie Sanders." that's really all they've got isn't it

    President Carter condemns sanctions on dictatorships. He argues that they hurt only the poor. Dictators already oppress their people. Sanctions only compound that oppression & legitimize dictators who can use them to blame privations on the U.S.

    Right. Aside from taking large amounts of money from one of the planet's most repressive regimes, CAP also rails against "Dark Money" even as it hides the identity of many of its largest, million-dollar-plus funders. How is that remotely defensible??

    CAP also claims that 2% of its funding comes from foreign governments, but it says nothing about wealthy and powerful individuals from other countries. 5 people (or organizations) have given them over a million dollars and we have no idea who they are.

    Finally, 2 reminders: 1) all of this erupted because committed the crime of reporting *the public votes & funding* of a hyped presidential candidate; 2) one of CAP's largest funders is one of the world's worst regimes & DC Dems are, for some reason, fine with this.

    The evidence for the critiques of is amply compiled in this article. Dismissing it all because of feelings toward the person who compiled it is lazy, empty ad hominem nonsense; if you want to refute it, you have to confront the evidence itself

    As for the critiques of , those aren't based on his ex-CAP status, but the flaws & biases in his articles & what the Podesta/DNC emails revealed about how the Clinton campaigned viewed/used him. It makes his friends & centrists angry but journalists can be critiqued.

    Ironically, the person who has most maligned & "smeared" ThinkProgress journalists is Neera herself. She derided TP writers Jilani and Fang as "freaks," Shakar (now the 's Political Director") a "fucker," and in general said TP was staffed by "crazy leftists down there".

    I agree TP has produced great young journalists (Lee Fang, Zaid Jilani, Faiz Shakar, others). And TP has now negotiated for more independence. But evidence is clear Neera interfered to make its content more pro-Hillary & less critical of Israel. Read it for yourself right here:

    If you want to claim "CAP has no editorial control over TP," must confront a) emails of Neera killing TP's Israel criticism after CAP's pro-Israel funders complained & b) Neera & Podesta plotting to change TP anti-Hillary headlines

    The idea that anyone who ever worked at ThinkProgress is a permanent shill for Neera Tanden and CAP, years after they worked there, is insulting and false. CAP has no editorial control over TP; TP also trained some of the best young journalists in the business. This is a smear.
