    When I read Chelsea's tweets, I felt it as betrayal from a friend. My reference to helping her through her (publicly reported) suicide attempts was to express why I was hurt, but I see how it was viewed & apologize. I stand by everything else I said & that's my last word on this.

    It should go without saying but I know it doesn't: it doesn't matter if you like Matt Gaetz or not to see the dangers of having prosecutors leak serious accusations to the media without charging the person, and it doesn't make you a pedophile or pedophilia-sympathizer to object.

    In the meantime, Gaetz's claim that his family was being extorted was bolstered this week when DOJ indicted someone for trying to extort his family for $25m, as he claimed. If Gaetz is guilty, he should be charged & tried, not convicted in the media.

    This was a favorite tactic of corrupt Brazilian prosecutors: they'd leak investigations and accusations to corporate media outlets, which would trumpet them, but never charge the person, thus destroying their enemies' reputations with no need to ever prove the case in court.

    It's been more than 5 months since NYT reported Matt Gaetz was "under investigation" for sex with an underage girl. Maybe one day he'll be charged, but leaking the existence of investigations without charges is a crime for a reason: destroys reputations with no chance of defense.

    The least important metric for evaluating someone's character or values in left-liberal media spaces is the work one does or one's actions in real life toward others. Only symbolic posturing, online hashtags and vapid in-group tribal loyalty matter.

    There's plenty I disagree with on, but far more I agree with. These performative witch-burnings of him over people he's allegedly "hurt" are so dumb. Those Glenn Greenwald has really hurt are some of the worst: Bolsonario, the CIA, George W. Bush, GCHQ, Barack Obama

    Corporate journalists don't hate Joe Rogan because he spreads disinformation. They spread disinformation constantly; they have no problem with it (and unlike them, when he does it, he apologizes & retracts). They hate him because he's built trust & a huge audience without them.

    Now must be the perfectly terrible time to re-share my essay on the vitality and necessity of Joe Rogan's platform? "Rogan is a revolutionary in a sense, transcending the quotidian rhythms of life and ideological boundaries of political discourse..."
