You don't think Russia would go after a journalist like Assange 100x harder than the US has?
Assange isn’t a US citizen. He didn’t do reporting on US soil. He had no connection to any US-based media outlet. The US Government is asserting the right to grab a publisher anywhere in the world to the US & imprison them. And it’s irrelevant what Russia does here.
Notice how all the blame is put on Trump? Sure his administration is conducting the prosecution. But the ACLU and the AmazonCIAWholeFoods Post have forgotten that all their friends in the Obama administration wanted skip the trial and just drone bomb Assange.
No one has forgotten this.
And if Trump tried to stop it all we would hear is RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA. This isn't the Trump administration, this has been going on well before he got into office. Be real.
Trump won't try to stop it. He's as authoritarian as the rest of the DC ghouls. Under Trump, the FBI is advancing a more radical (and flimsy) pretext to prosecute Assange than Obama. There isn't a "good side" in this.
