The more I think about this new @Twitter explanation, the more obnoxious it becomes. I decide to follow someone to see their tweets in my time-line. Twitter (silently) decides for me it's best if I don't see them, unless I go to their page (making the following feature pointless)

And: Twitter - as it silently and with no transparency blocks me from seeing the tweets in my time-line of people I decide to follow - sanctimoniously denies it's "shadow-banning." Begging Silicon Valley execs to control political content on massive platforms is a huge mistake.

We don’t block who you follow on your timeline. We do rank the timeline, so you may not see them there if those tweets are not as relevant as others. You can also turn this ranking off.
-
Shouldn't it be *me* (not Twitter) who decides which tweets from people I follow are relevant to me?
@kayvz ? -
Or, can you make the “relevance” criteria public and controllable by the user?

Is Twitter acting
#Orwellian or#Kafkaesque? Should Twitter be absorbed by the#USA government or by the#UnitedNations as a new department/ agency? -
It should at least be legally regulated as s public forum.
-
I agree, but who regulates? > USA government (because Twitter resides in California); or > United Nations (because Twitter is utilized globally).

Actually it is shadow-banning. If someone has to make just as much effort to see tweets of someone they're following as they do to see someone they aren't following, The whole function of the technology is useless. It's not an outright ban, but it's a shadow ban.

Yep. They are censoring our voices. This is oppressive rule. New platform soon.

Twitter silencing a person because someone else contacts you to attack you, or because someone mutes you because they don't like the things you say is a problem. I have been shadowbanned for 4 months and have yet to say anything even slightly objectionable.
-
When you are shadowbanned your posts won't show up in hashtags, you do not show up in twitter's search function. Only you and your followers can see you. I have contacted twittersupport, twitteresafety, their CEO and the head of Twitter Safety directly no help has been given.

When
@Twitter makes your Tweets invisible in other people's time lines you have been shadow banned. Thanks for extracting this statement from them after years of ridiculous games. -
They admit to this, but say they do not shadow ban. "You may, however, need to go to that person's timeline to see their tweets." OK, toss the idea of your newsfeed. I can scrape your site and create my own custom feed of people I choose to follow with RSS.
-
I've got an old script that just needed some syntax updated that publishes an "intelligent" aggregation of selected RSS feeds. All you have to to is add the account URLs to this script, and it will post you a righteous news feed, not fucked with by Twitter.
