You don’t think words can be dangerous? Neat.

Words DO MATTER, Gab! They can essentially be metaphorical bullets....& motivate one, to do heinous acts, of crime. When mentally disturbed people, read words, instigated through hate mongering....it triggers them.

-
So how do you propose the mentally ill never hear things that might "trigger" them?
-
Hopefully, they'll receive treatment, gaining tools, in which to do so. (Deal with the words, rationally) However; realistically speaking, many go untreated/undiagnosed.

-
Exactly. There is NO way to do that. The mentally ill are "mentally ill" bcs literally anything can "trigger" them. My dad was profoundly mentally ill, he found reasons to go off just from innocent everyday life. To make statements that certain things are resp is just not true.
-
It's been proven, in widely-based studies, that hateful rhetoric....namely politically motivated- is the #1 factor, behind domestic terrorism/acts of terrorism.
-
Where? Show me those articles proving that.

Tell that to the 800,000 dead Tutsis in Rwanda, whose slaughter was incited by words on the radio.
-
Unfortunately, most will have to google that...

Words are not bullets, but they do have the power to send them flying. Building a business model to capitalize on that power comes with the responsibility to moderate when that power is abused.
-
We don't need moderation of speech in public. Even if moderation could improve safety, it would be Illegal to censor. Gab is simply a public forum that operates on the same principles outlined in our Constitution.
