2. We do not receive any payments or donations via @stripe for the distribution of any products or items on their Prohibited Business List. They have yet to actually cite any examples, because none exist. If they did they would cite them.
3. No one is paying to access any adult content on Gab. If they are we would take action against them. @Stripe is demanding that we ban all adult content from the site and change our terms of service....because they said so?
Any adult content that is on the site currently is free, does not involve @Stripe in any way, and must be clearly marked NSFW.
So here is a case of a multi-billion dollar Silicon Valley payment infrastructure giant demanding that an upstart social network change their terms of service and ban all legal adult content (which is free and does not involve them) just because. Nice.
So the question becomes: if Gab were to ban all adult content from the site what will @Stripe demand next? That we ban all “hate speech?”
. @stripe does business with Facebook where murders, suicide, and torture is livestreamed. Yet they are worried about legal porn on Gab (which no one streams)https://abc13.com/10-most-shocking-facebook-live-moments-ever-captured/3302314/ …
Our reply to Stripe, who has yet to cite even a single example of Gab breaking their terms. Just baseless accusations and sophistry.pic.twitter.com/MJ6DEmdBZ0
Stripe is being very silly here. The real reason they want us gone is because left wing hall monitors are whining on Twitter which the media hall monitors are then writing about in the “press.” So Stripe is caving to this pressure. What else will they cave to?
They list computer technical support as a high risk business that is on their prohibited list. These guys can’t be taken seriously. Dump them and get another processor.
More "activism" from @mastercard methinks.
It's time to sue @stripe, search for @mastercard in the discovery phase, and nail them both to the wall: @stripe for Unrah and @mastercard for tortious interference
You guys are making the self appointed masters of the universe nervous! Keep up the great work!
This is how the establishment pigeonholes you. Lawsuits are expensive and time consuming so pick you battles wisely. This is the exact reason Bitcoin and crypto need mass adoption. Fuck the gatekeepers.
bitcoin is way too shady and unstable. Same with cryptocurrencies in general. That's why I'm not handing anyone dealing with them my contact information. And that's why half the security efforts at the IT firm I'm working at goes towards stopping bitcoin miners.
If you knew anything about IT, you would know that bitcoin requires zero personal information. There are even sites that accept bitcoin as payment without any personal info unlike credit cards.
This is an obvious attempt to manipulate Gab!
