Leading Chinese epidemiologist George Fu says SARS took 3 months to become easily transmissible between humans but the new #coronavirus did that in 1 month. “The viruses are adapting to humans” and vice versa I.e we get less sick, he said.

It’s actually a 1000 bed hospital to be completed by February 3rd and word of a 2nd one being built to house 1300.

It’s got a long and contagious incubation time, it’s spreads easily, some people have mild cases (just like a cold).... so there’s just no way I see that we can avoid this one.

We can't, we can only only slow it's spread. We know 2% death rate makes it equivalent to Spaish flu. We know 2.6 infections per case. We just have to SLOW the spread for 2 reasons. 1/ enables sensible rather than desperate response. 2/ When a virus crosses a species barrier..

I think he means the virus is mutating/changing because it swaps dna several times with human viruses much like avian flu viruses and human flu viruses do to survive in their host.
