My heart is bursting. On the eve of my first child's birth, my dad - who's been in prison nearly my entire life - was granted clemency. He never intended harm, yet his crime devastated many families. My heart breaks for the families that can never get their loved ones back.

It actually is. Both Presidents Clinton and Trump issued controversial pardons on their way out the door. Governors do the same thing.

The clemency the president gave to that American here that murdered that transgender and drowned her in a toilet was controversial too. Not one person agreed with the president. That soldier was abandoned and had nobody. The president felt pity for him.
