The bizarre thing about people on the left doing this is when people on the right do it by, say, arguing that "now is not the time to talk about gun control," everyone on the left understands how nonsensical that is.
My view is that it's okay to report facts and share different opinions, even or especially when it's inconvenient, because I trust that people are smart enough to wade through disagreements and reach their own conclusions. Otherwise, society doesn't really work.
I worry about "their own conclusions," since humans are incredibly fallible and biased creatures, but still support liberalism (small l) because all the alternatives are much worse.
I'm confused. Is he silencing disagreement or asking a question? Isn't quote tweeting him instead of engaging his question (or just not engaging) similar to what you accusing him of? Meant as a serious question. IMHO you are honestly both right, but the interaction seems... Off
