I know this is my hobbyhorse but I think this is exactly the thing mainstream Dems failed to do last summer — actually antagonize police abolitionists in a way that generates visible separation. Crazy to instead pick a fight over a popular progressive idea.
Yeah. Although I think it could come out looking better for her if she also ends up backing a $10 or $12 minimum wage bill that gets bipartisan support. Not saying it'll for sure happen, but it could be part of her thinking.

Exactly. She’ll get some letters to the editor celebrating her independence out of this vote, and then once a compromise minimum wage increase is passed her liberal & progressive voters will be less mad at her.
If she votes did a minimum wage that is lower than the minimum wage of Arizona, which voters does that help her reach?
