It's good to be proactive and tell people something bad is happening as soon as possible. And it's possible a new variant will turn out to fully evade vaccine-induced immunity. But maybe wait for any evidence showing that before trying to incite a panic.

It's weird that Reuters is presenting this as almost a "why even get vaccinated given that we'll all die anyway" opening when they make it clear later that they know better? I mean, do they think that makes it click-bait, because a lot of people won't bother to read it.
