Most people think that the future of VR is in games and entertainment, but it is also in office work; in particular, VR is going to replace screens and laptops.

✔️ Simula uses eye-focus to determine what the "active window" is (for keyboard & cursor focus). We're almost done implementing Simula's nix expression so that you can run it on your PC (I know you use nix).

I believe that advice originates from Paul Halmos:

I think the Wolfram Programming Language is the best kept secret in software (for example: it's more concise than any LISP). It should be more popular than Python, but for a variety of marketing and licensing reasons, is not.

The next form factor in computing is pretty obviously VR/AR which (extrapolating from various exponential technology curves) is set to be 10x better than PCs/laptops/smartphones in several dimensions.

According to Stephen Wolfram, they are. See the "Principle of Computational Equivalence" () in New Kind of Science.

Assembling a checklist for this one: ✓Always-on VR/AR that matches human eye resolution. ✓Ability to interact with software abstractions via our hands/appendages. ✓Ability to think-type 20,000+ words via BCI. This feels like it's 6 to 12 years away.

Another important VR exponential is PPI growth ("Pixels-Per-Inch") over time. When the Vive Pro came out, PPI was growing at 23.4% per year, which when extrapolated is enough to match human eye quality within a decade. PPI is really important for text resolution/VR office work.

Bridgewater alone has $125B AUM, on par with yearly U.S. VC expenditure (which itself is mostly just soft tech investment). Pathetically little money is invested in new hard technology.

Yes, but that's it...since the 1977! We should be ashamed of such incremental progress. Cancer should be cured by now. Compare to our progress in computing since 1977:

This is the most important chart I've seen this year. Here is another one: cancer survival rates have barely budged over time.

👼An angelic moment for capitalism: Billionaire just announced he will livestream his search for a fundamental theory of physics, using the tools he helped build (and made available to us all) over the past 30 years. ❤️ (1:22:16)

    5. All of these red flags could be assembled in real-time to build a case against the shooter, and to notify police forces (and/or autonomous police drones) to get to the potential crime scene within *seconds* (not minutes) of someone doing something wrong.

    4. Then the shooter had to get inside his car with his ak47 (suspicious), then drive to a highly populated area (doubly suspicious), and probably walked around with it before committing his horrific crime (extremely suspicious).

    3. For example: yesterday's shooter posted a crazy manifesto that was publicly available to social media. Even rudimentary AIs could notice something was suspicious about it.
