I like Plato's ideas in the Republic. Some people do not merit having high office on account of character flaws, narssim, greed etc. Only people of high integrity should govern. They wld not be allowed to have any assets instead being wholely supported by other levels of society.

We are in a Patonic style republic... only difference is our philosopher kings are not philosophers, but merchants, celebrities, journalists, and numpties.

Only if they work 3 times harder. Which they won't, so no, I don't agree.
-
In that case then, if they won’t work, we will make them three times poorer than the poorest workers !
My personal gripe ?, unfortunately too much wealth brings with it too much devilish antics, I guess homer, knew a thing or two back in the day about that !. -
Yes we can learn a lot from The Simpsonspic.twitter.com/E3RuLdUkN7

Can’t beat a bit of Homer !

I'm not dissing Aristotle, but Marx and Lenin make a lot more sense.

Aristotle's heart was in the right place but his logic stinks! if a farmer is capable of feeding 1,000 people, but having fed 20, he finds he is three times richer than someone, does it benefit the other 980 that he stops work and lets them starve?

Aristotle believed in distributitive justice - where those who “merit” should receive more. Never really got around to defining what merit really was.

Given that there is an estimated 16m Britons living with less than £100 in the bank, I trust you’ve only got £300 in the bank? You wouldnt want to be seen as a massive hypocrit would you?
