you play tekken?
i just remembered, the other day at the tekken tournament i went to, i was the only one to say ‘good luck, have fun’ and ‘gg’s’ and give fist bumps to everyone before and after the set. is it not a common thing?

Based on experience the FGC is normally more serious about bracket. Not saying that one is more serious than the other they might've just been wary about a new players skill level.

Another point is that many of those same players have been doing that same routine for so long and so many times over they've basically agreed upon that every match has those things implied before hand.
