Interesting ... any particular reason why (3) is written as sqrt(2)/2 rather than 1/sqrt(2) ?? I'm interested in why people choose the different option.

I think some of the less famous numbers deserve to be mentioned too: 0.693 = 0.4^0.4 6.283 = (9/2-pi)^6 0.707 = atan(2)-0.4 2.718 = 1/pi+12/5 0.577 = (log(log(8))+1)/3 1.414 = atan(19/3) 0.866 = log(5)/(5-pi) 1.618 = 5/6*pi-1 2.302 = pi/8+6/pi 1.644 = 2^(8/(8+pi))

This is brilliant

(1)? (2) 2*pi (3) 1/2 sqrt(2) (4) e (5) ? (6) sqrt(2) (7) 1/2 sqrt)3) (8) phi (9) ? (10) ?

(9) is ln(10), a horrible conversion factor used by (bio)chemists forever trapped by Sørensen’s bad life choices, and by those who think log-linear graph paper is still a thing.

Those of us that grew up without calculators that could express answers using surds probably have a head start.....
