    Did just really stop working in a big way for anyone else? My Twitter feed is now the same garbage fire of "Promoted tweets" on desktop as it is on mobile. It sucks. Every Promoted tweet is some really seriously basic-ass crap. Pretty sure I didn't use to get them.

    My wife and I never talk to our kids. We ask them to submit all communications anonymously through rigorous and double-blind peer review. My daughter is 5 and has 21 publications in high-impact journals. My daughter can burn holes in furniture using only her eyes

    My wife and I never baby talk to our kids. We use full sentences and a wide vocabulary including complex words. My son is 3 and can carry a full conversation. Adults at family gatherings are shocked at his social aptitude. My daughter isn’t even 2 and she uses 4-syllable words.

    Hey Twitter, any opinions on Flake's "Computational Beauty of Nature". It looks intriguing but frankly a bit old/odd. Not knowing much about the contents I don't know if techniques have moved on too much to make it more than a curiosity .

    Interesting article. I like the idea of "AVX-32,768". I wonder if it could be (ab)used for something not related to neural networks. Awaiting technical details. Centaur's web site is not exactly a technical powerhouse at this point.

    I've been working on this new system for graphic design, where drawings are specified in terms of constraints and solved using an SMT solver. Some interesting and amusing results have come out of these experiments:

    c) Running an SMT solver on each of these 180x more numerous cases (graphs * instruction blowout) is inherently more expensive due to more constants and more backtracking in the solver.

    b) there are more cases (due to the added .instruction - so if we have ~30 instructions, that's theoretically a slowdown of 30x, although I have some optimizations that mitigate that a bit). I neglected to anticipate:

    This is exactly what I had in mind, but it's reassuring to see that it works. I think combinations of the new AVX512 bitshuffle and permute instructions will be even more powerful. Even VGF2P8MULB has general interest; it's not like we have other multiply-type operations in 8b.
