are trying to sell the cops mango, water, watermelon. The same stuff the cops threaten to arrest them for selling all the time. The police threats didn't work. It takes more than that to scare these well-organized, brave street vendors.

Vendors United out here at the 3rd district police station in DC selling mango, water, masks, and snacks, as civil disobedience. Vendors are VITAL to our community, and it’s time for police to STOP harassing them.

This kid witnessed police attacking her 15 year-old friend for vending in the streets, like generations of girl scouts and little league players have. Police tackled her, injuring her leg. And this kid has the courage to tell the story in front of the police station.

Athletes— Please connect w/ local organizers who’ve been leading the fights in your cities. Most already have well thought out demands & initiatives they’ve been working toward for years. Your support can be the breakthrough they need. Listen to them over the local establishment.

And now the Lakers and the Portland Trailblazers will not be playing their game tonight. Let's get our terminology on point: that would be a "double-wildcat-political-strike for racial justice."

The NBA’s Board of Governors better come up with a plan tomorrow. Statements of support won’t cut it.
