I'm not looking for work right now. I have to finish my phd. But, I was just chatting with a friend and he was trying to get me to join his project. It sounded really cool right up until, "yea, it's all in C++." I deleted his contact information. We are no longer friends.
I always feel that way for a while. Then, it all starts to feel so conceptually overburdened. Like, C++ is impressive for what it is and the large number of constraints placed upon it (esp wrt backwards compatibility). I just don't want to work in it.

Yeah, I get that. I recently (has it already been two years?) switched from C++ to Scala and haven't looked back.
