Obviously, it's not a *new* strategy. But, 1) There's been proliferation and refinement of this type of attack with social media as a vector; 2) Attackers respond to perceived opportunities; 3) Kanye et al keep generating attention that makes such perception more likely...
I've neither looked at this empirically nor could experience this personally, but: Does it seem like Team Racist is escalating their use of community fission / fragmentation strategies on black people lately?
