1/ When novice coders first encounter an unfamiliar, powerful language feature, they struggle to figure out when and where to use it. The expert prescription of "use sparingly" isn't helpful because you don't know what constitutes sparingly until you paid a tuition in mistakes.

2/ There's a weird shortcut though. When you first learn something, abuse the hell out of it. Use it everywhere and anywhere, just because. Within a week or two, you'll develop an intuition that flashes: "WARNING: SURFACE IS HOT."
