Omfg was browsing through a sci job hunt advice column thing & it actually said “if you’re a real scientist you should be using R.” Note that I’m not sharing the link cause that is frickin garbage.

Regardless of how that sentence ends, I hate it! (pre-emptive: Yes, I understand it could say ...scientific method — still a lame line!)
It's a useless way to frame advice, and just perpetuates the "tyranny of the shoulds" -
I have no idea what article this is (I imagine it'd just make me mad), but even if I venture a guess that it's about reproducibility, there's really no need to make it language specific.
