I’ve tried lots of writing and coding methodologies. Sadly, the most productive (in both domains):
1. write stuff;
2. edit it;
3. throw some or all of it away;
4. until out of time, goto 1.
Seems like TINSTAAFL in thinking hard. And, satisfaction is ever-elusive.

Who’s your audience and what’s your actual product? Is your code producing something or are people using your code? Team or solo?

If it’s never to be used again, don’t beat yourself up over it. At least you’re ok with throwing stuff away. Took me awhile to be ok with writing code I knew was going to be thrown away...others will live and die by routines
