2/ Alternative play: The @GOP may realize that, after passing the bill, they can't just "turn on him." If they did, it would basically be an admission that they played along for the sake of a massive corporate tax cut.

4/ Their remaining support: the minority of the GOP that still believes the party could ever be a conservative party again. And, their corporate benefactors. Except, the latter group is good at image management so their support won't be accessible.

6/ Since election day, the evidence that our society is at a precipice keeps accumulating. If that's true, we eventually hit the point of no return. Everyone's so worried about Mueller but this bill may be it: The "our hands are tied"-variety of treason.
