1/ It's been a long time since I tried learning a new IDE deeply. I think the last two were VIM/Jupyter, which I use all day every day for years. Now I'm trying to learn @jetbrains deeply and I forgot how much doing so requires you keep rehearsing/practicing as a ritual first.
I use Anki for everything I start trying to do because for me the cache miss frustration is high. But I stop using decks after a while assuming I got the habits i wanted

Yeah, I like the principle. The problem is being motivated enough to start with it in the first place. Oldest has a real problem retaining info unless personally interested (i.e. math spelling are *hard*), so ANKI repeating stuff that is "missed" seems awesome.
