1/ It's been a long time since I tried learning a new IDE deeply. I think the last two were VIM/Jupyter, which I use all day every day for years. Now I'm trying to learn @jetbrains deeply and I forgot how much doing so requires you keep rehearsing/practicing as a ritual first.

3/ I really do think there's an opportunity to extend this space though. The risk is an assistant that feels like Clippy. But in the same way Bayesian auto-complete/suggest works in IDEs, I think you can have inferred "better" actions induced over user data.

4/ Instead, right now, I have an ANKI deck that I cobble together by actively thinking “I wish I could do X” then seeking if I can.
