Not a lot of people know this but when Archimedes said, "Give me a place to stand, and a lever long enough, and I will move the world," he was talking about programming in Python.

Does that lever move my computer from my desk to the trash can because that’s what Python makes me want to do.

What would you prefer, in an ideal world? (Genuinely curious.)

Depends on the task I need to complete and the data I’m working with. Python is incredibly readable, but it’s not as natural to me for some tasks as other languages are.

OK so you're still in general in favor of language-based approaches, but Python is perhaps too "formal programming language"-y?

I like the formality of it; it’s just not as natural a language for me. Just a personal preference.

This is also a preference based on my (admittedly limited) exposure to it and the tasks I use languages for. I’m not a programmer; I’m an epidemiologist.

Thank you for listening! I really hope none of that came across as disrespectful; that wasn’t my intention at all.

I didn't read it that way at all!
