1/ The question I'm struggling with the most for my @ycombinator app is, "why are you a solo founder?"
The honest answer is timing.
I won't and don't want to be one, but the opportunity came up fast, and not making a horrible very long-term mistake means recruitment isn't.
Discovery, I think. Our fun projects styles aligned well. For pay, I spent a lot of time trying to the eventually convincing the client that what they wanted was a terrible idea and that was the part he privately wanted to do.

That may only apply to consulting. But in my experience isn't. I wish it was different but generally the fun thing you want to do and the thing you should do are separated by some tar pits.

For sure I have the same experience. But it sounds to me less like you need to find people you can definitely work with for a long time, and more like you need to find people who have the emotional maturity to say "actually I really want to do it" to your face.
